What I Watched: March 2018.

It's a new month and you know what that means - a new 'What I Watched' post. Woot woot! March was a fairly good month for movies in the my house and the boyfriend's house. We managed to get through 13 movies in total. There wasn't any sort of theme to our movie madness, it's just an array of all sorts of crap! Maybe you'll find something you like in the list:

SHADOWS OF THE SUN.
I watched this when I was on a bit of a Jamie Dornan binge as it was one I'd not seen of his and if honest I found the story to be pretty boring. I did like the feel of the film, like the family and the love between them, but it just didn't do anything for me. Bit bland really.

FLYING HOME.
Another Jamie Dornan film. I may have already put this on a list before because I have seen it several times. This one's not anything special either although I do enjoy a hell of a lot more than the first one above. It's about a racing pigeon...so watch if you must.

BRIDGET JONES' BABY.
I adore these movies! I watched the first two in February so I obviously wanted to finish the trilogy. This one's not too bad. It doesn't hold up to the first film because seeing Bridget Jones facetiming and dancing to today's music kinda ruined it for me. I know a lot will like the updated version, but I loved 2001 Bridget better.

DEATH OF STALIN.
This was a pick by the boyfriend. After seeing the trailer we both thought it looked kinda funny and was going to be a comedy, but MY GOD were we wrong. It had the rare joke and funny moment in it (thank you, Jason Isaacs) but this was in no way a comedy. It was terrible.

THE TERMINAL.
Another pick by Alex. I adore Tom Hanks but I'd never seen this movie before Al mentioned it. I thought it would be boring, I mean how exciting is a man stuck in an airport for an hour and half of screen time? But I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and will probably give it another watch soon.

BIG HERO 6.
I wasn't aware of this movie until we watched. I'd seen the giant Baymax at the local comic-con, but had no idea what it was from. Alex and I popped this on on a whim and there he was! I adore this film. I wish I could own my own Baymax.

IRON SKY.
Another boyfriend pick. This was definitely not something I would've chosen to watch on my own. It's got space travelling Nazis, racism and subtitles. Not my cup of tea.

MAGIC MIKE + MAGIC MIKE XXL.
I've recently started rewatching the TV show 'White Collar' and realized that the beautiful man that is Matt Bomer is in Magic Mike, so I decided to give it another go. Male strippers isn't something I seek out in my films, but I do enjoy these two movies. It not for Pony alone.

BURLESQUE.
I caught this on the Sony movie channel one day whilst Alex was having a snore-fest. I adore Christina Aguilera and I adore this movie. It's a bit corny and cliched, but it's got one of my fave babes singing in it so I ain't too bothered!

SAVING MR BANKS.
I have posted about this in a previous WIW but it's so good we decided to watch it again with Alex's dad. Emma Thompson is just amazing in everything she does. What a woman!

STEP UP.
I went on a bit of a Channing/Jenna binge after watching Magic Mike. I watched this, subscribed to Jenna's youtube, rewatched the lip sync battle....all whilst being in awe of their love and relationship....then last week happened. So....yeah. Not my fault.

THE GREATEST SHOWMAN.
FINALLY I got around to watching this and I am in love. What a fantastic movie. I'm not really into musicals unless someone's in it who I like to see, but this one just took me in straight away. I had no idea Hugh Jackman could sing like that. What a man! Of course since watching it I've had the soundtrack on repeat and followed everyone on Insta, ha!

What have you been watching lately? Any recs?
