New Look FLAWLESS Liquid Foundation. Porcelain. Review.

It's been quite some time now since I last did a foundation review, so I thought I'd pop one up for you on this lovely little product that I bought recently (SEE Haul here) from New Look.

Until a few months ago I didn't even know that New Look did makeup but then I saw a review of this foundation on YouTube and decided to give it a whirl as I was on the lookout for a better coverage foundation anyway.

New Look have a couple of different foundations to choose from including a stick foundation which I am planning on purchasing when this one runs out, a 'No Shine' foundation which I picked up in my recent haul and the 'Flawless liquid foundation' which this post is about.

I chose the Flawless Liquid foundation as the reviews all seemed pretty good and it sorta pulled me in with its selling points on the website. It claims to conceal imperfections, even out skin tone and leave you with a flawless, natural-looking finish. It has medium coverage and also contains SPF15, which is always a selling point to me as I never apply sunscreen before applying my makeup. I'm just too lazy, tbh.

Now don't get grossed out by my skin because I know it's not exactly the most feminine looking BUT I wanted to give you an honest review on the coverage of this foundation and this is how my skin was at the time of taking the photos. [As I've mentioned before I have PCOS which causes Hirsuitism, which is why I look like a man with a days beard growing, but you know what? I've recently thought 'Fuck it!!' It's my skin, sorry I'm not perfect, but whatever. I'm alive. If you find yourself needing to point out my flaws then you can take a run off a short pier. Buh-bye! *rant over*] Anyway, I wanted to show how good a coverage this has on my skin as I was on the hunt for a foundation that would cover my Hirsuitism and of course the lovely spots that I had in these pics.

Onto the foundation, I got this foundation in the shade Porcelain like I do with every base that I buy, but this one is just a bit too pale for my liking. I feel like it really washes me and makes me look like a ghost, which I don't find too bad for now as I tend to bronze a lot to warm up my face, but when the Summer comes I may swap my foundations.

The coverage on this is amazing! As you can see from the pictures it does an amazing job at camouflaging my flaws and giving me a clear base to work with. It can be built up slightly, but I found that the more you put on the more it just comes back off on the beauty blender, so one layer of this tends to be enough. The foundation has a slight scent to it, it isn't overpowering, it's quite nice actually, but I don't know if it would be to everyone's taste.

The only huff I have with this foundation is that it tends to start drying quite fast, so as you're applying it it can start feeling a little bit tacky. I don't know if that's the right word, but it feels a little off. When it's got some finishing powder over it though, it's fine and it looks great and natural, so that's the only thing that miffs me about it.

For just £4.99, I think this foundation is amazing. The staying powder is pretty good, it lasts around 4-5 hours (which is all I need), the finish is amazing and the coverage is just what I need. If you haven't tried it, I would definitely give it a go. The only real downside is that it currently only comes in three shades, which is just pants, but I'm quite happy having a slight Caspar glow for £4.99!

Have you tried the Flawless Liquid Foundation from New Look?

  1. I haven't tried any of the New Look makeup yet but oh my god that coverage is amazing. Definitely gonna have to give this a go as I love a good high coverage foundation. Im not sure if I have PCOS as my doctors just keep ignoring my concerns but I do struggle with facial hair and I'm trying really hard to not let it bother me but it's so hard.

    1. So sorry for the late reply. Somehow your comment ended up in the 'awaiting moderation' section, ugh!

I know what you mean, I've had facial hair problems since I was 15 and it's such a pain in the arse! I was lucky enough to get sent to a specialist at the hospital via my doctor. If you're concerned about it definitely keep pushing them to check. Even simple blood tests can indicate some problem there. I had to go and have an ultrasound done, so maybe ask for that.

I hope you get it sorted, lovely!
